Daily Duties at Atlantic Air Engineering:

Job duties: Lead Mechanic for projects where I had supervised 4-10 workers depending on the project. Estimated material and cost of projects, interfaced with customers, design projects, and read blueprints. I worked both in the shop fabricating sheet metal and in the field as an installer. Shop experience includes working with both hand and power brake, shear, punch press, crimpers, spot welder, Cybernation machine, benders, slip and drive machine, and Pittsburg machine. Created cut list from blueprints and/or sketches. Cutting sheet metal according to size on cut list. Fabricated hanger straps and brackets. Created new shop layout making it a more productive work environment. Field duties included installing sheet metal fabrication according to blueprint and/or sketches and installing equipment. Implemented changes in the field to correct errors or unexpected problems which allow work to continue. Knowledge of all sheet metal tools and other hand tools which include snips, flanging pliers, bulldogs, crimpers, and Whitney punch, etc. Other duties required for both field and shop were to maintain safe work environment, trained new employees, and check quality of fabricated sheet metal work.
