Daily Duties at Lucent Technologies/Agere System/Lsi/Infineon Technologies:

I used engineering concepts, principles and practices to performed the following duties for the Satellite Radio and Cell phone division: Designed bottoms-up elements of chip design from RTL to final verification, including but not limited to: cell, and block-level custom layouts, floor plans, abstract view generation, RC extraction, and schematic-to-layout verification and debug using phases of physical design development including parasitic extraction, static timing, wire load models, clock generation, custom polygon editing, auto-place and route algorithms, floor planning, power management, full-chip assembly, packaging, and verification. Verification involved preparing test procedures to checking for shorts and opens in the design, checking and fixing design rule violations, antenna violations, noise analysis, checking to make sure the company was using the correct intellectual property. Packaging involved creating wirebond diagrams and testing to make sure all chip connection to the package did not violate any design/package rules. Full chip assembly involved taking the newly design chip and placing it inside of the minigred need by the fabrication plants, also creating and placing fill for uniform layering need for processing. Order entry process involved verifying and order correct mask layers. Other duties included: Analyzed and perform trouble shooting on production chips to improve performance or correct errors by performing necessary test to obtain data to recommend and make modifications to fix errors while using the least amount of mask layers to remain cost effective. Also analyzed and tested new feature on existing production to see the effects of adding the new feature. Trained and mentored new employees, acted as advisor and consultant on design they were working on. Held and attended project meetings with both team members and customers to discuss strategies, timeline, and solutions to current problems. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and UNIX. Peer checked colleagues' projects prior to mask release. Performed studies and report back to management on which CAD tools can perform faster, maintain reliability, and remain cost efficient. * Acted as Team leader on group designed to find errors in one of Agere System verification tools to increase worker productivity.
