Daily Duties at Motorola:

Responsibilities were to complete RF Signal Quality Estimate (SQE) and audio quality testing on system loads during the system test phase before they were delivered to the customer and report defects back to the development box teams where the defect originated. • Worked closely with development the box teams that defects were logged against to get the issues resolved in a timely fashion. • Led the test team through many of the innovative features that were incorporated into system releases to be delivered to the customer including but not limited to smart antenna technology, AMBE++ audio, nationwide dispatch, and several base radio platforms. • Was heavily involved in audio testing for a new dual-mode product that would switch between voice over IP (VoIP) when available and cellular and worked with the development teams to resolve issues. The final product did go through customer test trials but never went to market. • Conducted testing on an echo canceller that was capable of compressing the audio over long-haul trunks to see the effect the audio compression would have on the iDEN Network. Compression schemes that were tested were G.711 (standard), G.726, G.729, and G.723.
