Daily Duties at Comprehensive Software Systems (Css):

CSS developed an n-tier, comprehensive application for brokerage firm management. The application used VB Windows applications on the front end and C++ drivers for data access (SQL Server) and was being ported to a web-based application using ASP pages containing a single downloaded VB ActiveX User Control. The User Control contained all event handling and used RDS (Remote Data Services, a precursor of AJAX) to access server-side VB .dlls running under MTS on the IIS server. Evaluated ADO (then recently released), specifically the use of disconnected record sets in lieu of encoded strings as parameters/return values to/from the server methods. Successfully recommended that CSS move forward with this methodology. Introduced and presented the use of ADO to the other developers. Designed and implemented ASP pages, VB user controls, and stateless VB .dlls for a variety of modules, and contributed to database design meetings in their regard. Authored a multi-threaded VB application to perform batch imports of accounting information. Mentored other VB programmers.
