Daily Duties at Onsite Environmental Laboratories:
Director and Health and Safety Officer-Supervise field chemists, QC personnel and Lab Managers in California and Mexico. Train staff in the use of a wide range of instrumentation: GC, GC/MS, HPLC, FTIR, AA and various physical testing techniques. Maintain or obtain all State and Federal certifications which allowed us to perform work in state and for the military. The certifications included: DHS/ELAP, USACE (Army Corp. of Engineers) NEESA. Help in the establishment of our Mexico laboratory operations. Primarily training staff, obtaining certifications which demonstrated we were following Mexico’s environmental rules and regulations Act as a translator for staff both in Mexico and in the United States. Meet regularly with US military officials, EPA reps and Haz Mat teams. Write SOPs Validate data packages and reports Project management Technical presentations Assisted in authoring our QA Manual and Waste Disposal and Chemical Hygiene manuals.
