Daily Duties at Federal Aviation Administration:
As the Senior Field Agent during the Desert Shield/Storm crisis, the national contingency plan facilitated the implementation of required contingency measures for all airports and air carriers within regional area of responsibility. Following implementation, I monitored compliance for it. Having prior knowledge of FAA programs enabled me to make daily operational decisions in regards to the contingency plan with little or no direction from either regional or national headquarters. Provided timely assistance and informational updates to the airports and air carriers within my jurisdiction as appropriate. As the Senior Civil Aviation Security Inspector, I planned the team work on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual basis in order to meet required deadlines. I conduct inspections of airports/air carriers for their compliance with the Federal Aviation Regulations on Security and Hazardous Materials shipment requirements. These inspections and other daily work activities were completed within the established office inspection schedule. I regularly plan trips to local airports, to not only carry out scheduled inspection requirements but also to coordinate my attendance at airport and air carrier meetings on security and other related matters to reduce office expenditures. During this assignment I was also performing Federal Air Marshal (FAM) Duties on a monthly basis. The additional duty as a FAM required that I complete all of my other assigned duties as a CASI prior to my staring any new missions as a FAM. As a Federal Air Marshal (as a team leader and a team member) I have received in-depth training in the prevention and control of "in-flight" incidents. I have also participated and assisted in two Hijack scenarios administered by the FAA and coordinated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. I was also a participant in the 1989 "POLAR STAR" hijack exercise. I have also assisted in the investigation of a hijack incident that occurred this year involving the Los Angeles International Airport and American Airlines. What they like about Federal Aviation Administration:
The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.
