Daily Duties at Federal Aviation Administration:
In this position I was tasked with the oversight of the 56 Regional Airport Security Programs (ASP). This oversight encompassed the daily gathering, analysis, and evaluation of information received from Washington Headquarters and the Regional Civil Aviation Security Field Offices (CASFO‘s) regarding National Policy and implementation of the Regional ASP's. These ASP's required reviewing and in some cases starting from scratch in writing them so that they could be compliant with current national and regional policies. These reviews and rewrites required constant recommendations and decisions while working with the Regional CASFO Managers and/or the Federal Security Managers located at the Western Pacific Regions airports. These rewrites, changes and reviews were to facilitate FAR 107.14, 107.25, 107.27, and 107.29. The analysis of these changes required the tracking of Airport Improvement Program (AIP) Funds and to the local airport or community. My analysis, recommendations and decisions saved the FAA approximately $10,000,000.00 in AIP funds. At one airport I was able to cut $2,500,000.00 in the FAR 107.14 (A) and 107.25 requirements through my analysis and evaluate of the airport security posture. (Contact Supervisor: Yes, Supervisor's Name: Madeline Sawyer, Supervisor's Phone: 310-725-3700)
What they like about Federal Aviation Administration:
Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
