Daily Duties at Federal Aviation Administration:
As the Program Manager for over 640 Indirect Air Carriers (IAC) in the Western Pacific Region it is my responsibility to review and approves any amendment/renew or makes changes to the IAC Standard Security Program (SSP). As this program was new to the industry I had developed a workshop training program that I used to instruct and inform the industry on the requirements and standards of the Indirect Air Carrier Standard Security Program. I had developed this program even further for training the national CASI cadre under a “train the trainer” concept for the inspectional process under this program. As of this date, I have trained 80% of the Western-Pacific Regional CASI's using the training program that I developed. I have evaluated IAC training programs, records systems, facilities and procedures and have made recommendations to the IAC's based on this analysis and inspections to further their operations in a cost effective manner using training programs. These on-site inspections have identified system-wide problems in the IAC programs in this Region that had prompted my development of the workshops training program for the industry. These training workshops also assisted the National Program Manager with insight on the compliance and understanding of the program by the IAC's. I have also developed an Excel program that allowed me to track IAC renewal dates under section VII of the IACSSP. This program also allowed me to FAX letters, messages and notices to the IAC from my computer to their FAX machines after hours on up coming mile stones and changes to the program. These programs were enforceable under Federal Aviation Regulation and USC 49. (Contact Supervisor: Yes, Supervisor's Name: Madeline Sawyer, Supervisor's Phone: 310-725-3700)
What they like about Federal Aviation Administration:
You give high priority to hiring firms with prestige. Market reputation and prestige of a firm may be determined through on-line research, and conversations with individuals working in your target industry. Note that firms "in the public eye" receive a great deal more critical publicity and attention than those operating with more anonymity. So as you assess your employment opportunities, be sure to seek out the positive aspects of the firm's reputation in addition to noting negative publicity the company may have received.
