Daily Duties at Department Of Homeland Security :

As the Manager of Customer Service & Quality Improvement at the Albuquerque International and Santa Fe Airports. I was charged with assisting the Federal Security Director (FSD) with managing and assuring attainment of quantitative and qualitative customer satisfaction both within the industry and through out the organization. I also served as the FSD's liaison between himself and any concerned party at the airport, i.e. the traveling public, air carriers, airport administration, on-site vendors/retailers, and various groups and representatives from the aviation industry on customer support and quality improvement matters. I have conducted and completed several complex surveys on the ABQ checkpoint in the past that have resulted in the addition of a sixth lane being used for passenger screening. The new lane facilitated the process for selectee's, private screening and airport badged employees at a more effective rate. These surveys also allowed me to analysis current and past data performance measures and resource allocations to be more effective with manpower constraints. In-addition, during this time I was placing in the capacity of Acting as the Assistant Federal Security Director for Law Enforcement (AFSD-LE). This position required me to interact with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies as there needs arose. On numerous occasions I worked with the United States Secret Service in meeting there goals for protection assignments. As the Acting AFSD-LE I have also represented the FSD as the U. S. District Attorney's Office for the State of New Mexico on the Anti-Terrorist Task Force. This has resulted in new partnership with the New Mexico Department of Transportation and the New Mexico Department of Aviation. With this new partnership the State of New Mexico has utilized the Albuquerque FSD Office as a resource for expertise as well as a training ground for its new Aviation Security Inspectors. This partnership has enabled State Aviation Security Inspectors to protect New Mexico State controlled airports against terrorism, drug traffickers, shipments of dangerous goods (hazardous materials), and weapons of mass destruction. Since this partnership is still in the infancy stage, the next six to nine months will push the State of New Mexico Aviation Security Program and Department to the forefront in the Nation. What they like about Department Of Homeland Security :

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
