Daily Duties at Seagate Technology, Mr&D Department, :
• Designed Hard Disk Drive (HDD) suspensions for Seagate’s 3.5”, 2.5”, and 1.8” platforms based on the requirements from design centers. 1.8” suspension design had highest shock performance among the competitions. • Used DOE tool to identify the main factors contributing contact modulation issue occurred head-disk interface. Suspension geometry, air-bearing design, transducer design, pitch static attitude (PSA), and interconnection method were considered independent variables to find most optimal design point for upcoming products. • Worked closely with internal and external groups such as HDD suspension manufacturers, design centers, etc. to make sure that designed suspension meets all performance requirements and critical to quality items. • Monitored all SPC reports from vendors to assure final product was being manufactured as designed and intended. • Conducted/ managed daily activities as follow: creating solid models, generating FEMs, running FEAs, running optimization analyses, generating suspension prints, Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activities with vendors, preparing Design Verification Test (DVT) reports. • Rewarded by Key Contributor Performance bonus
