Daily Duties at Walmart:

Environment: IBM 3090, DB2, COBOL, JCL, REMEDY Description : Several applications running in the Mainframe environment had to be made Y2K compliant. Conversion strategies had to be developed and also estimate the scope of the impact due to this change. Responsibilities: • Coordinate team work and analyze, design and develop a strategy for Y2K compliance. One had to identify and classify related programs and pieces of code to simplify and streamline conversion procedures. • Worked as part of 5 -member development team. • Attended user meetings to find out the requirements for Y2K conversion requirements • Participated in the Scoping and estimation for the given module • Written/Modified new/old programs for the above design changes in COBOL, DB2 and involves writing new reporting programs which needed knowledge on RPTVIEW • Prepared test data for Unit testing and System testing. • Wrote and implemented test plans for system testing and evaluated the results of test plans • Used DB2 Utilities to query Database tables, performed SPUFI/SQL queries to obtain data from tables
