Daily Duties at Txt Polymedia:

Consultant for configuration management and IT Process development at Fastweb, SRL. Tasks included: • Compiling software ensuring completeness and correctness. • Creating software images for various environments (all Linux) and hardware types and uploading these images to appropriate environment bootservers. • Development of many scripts in BASH and TCL shells to automate and facilitate each compile, build and delivery process. • Aid in the development of process and documentation of configuration management. This includes gaining user (developer and software group) acceptance since the concept is new to this area. • Assist in development of Change, Incident, Problem, Configuration and Release Management processes and documentation as well as Testing and Quality Assurance of the software. • The tools used include Merant Dimensions for Change, Incident, Problem, Configuration and Software management, CVS and Subversion for other areas of software management. • Migration from CVS and Subversion to Merant Dimensions.
