Evaluated products and benefits. Directed web brand management efforts for StarTribune.com Classified Jobs by coordinating the efforts of graphic designers, programmers, and leveraging strong relationships with 6 vendors. Presented detailed analysis to senior management weekly. Updated all print collateral for product(s). Project Management: • Simultaneously led as many as 10 projects including new system implementations and integrations, product enhancements, webpage redesigns, daily webpage updates, product analyses, and semi-weekly newsletters. • Redrafted project plan with high-risk, phased-in approach and appropriate risk management to meet live date and allow sales to meet goals in spite of a 50% delay in project start. • Planned and prepared for a successful system migration which was estimated to require six months, but had to go live in two months. • Prepared specification and led migration of valuable data that was assumed would be lost and would have precluded the sale of a profitable product for six months. • Led cross-functional teams to decisions and a unified product plan. • Successfully managed negotiations of costs and contracts with new and old vendors. • Established strong relationships with customers purchasing ads, end customers, and vendors. Web Traffic Analysis / SEO: • Contributed heavily to decisions regarding the cost/benefit of the advice offered by SEO contractors, ways that some ideas could be used with a simpler, less labor intensive approach requiring less effort for long-term benefits. • Implemented additional Omniture tracking code and reported website usage to further optimize high-interest areas, identified areas where cost to maintain exceeded benefit, and, finally, those that needed better organization. • Focused stakeholders on most SEO-savvy Internet solutions and successfully implemented them. Began design of new business with SEO best practice specs. • Accurately forecasted web traffic, customer response and product usage and used variances to find system errors. Social Media Marketing: • Led system migration from legacy software to new system to integrate elements of social media marketing into marketing/advertising and extend reach to improve SEO rankings. Cost Savings: • Commended for cost benefit analysis leading to 70% cost savings (over $1 million per year), annually, after implementation. • Initiated discussion with vendor’s founder to resurrect a project at a standstill; worked to find a solution to save 90% (40K) by streamlining billing implementation. Statistical Analysis for Customer Satisfaction: • Conducted customer survey and compiled comment data to reveal system flaws and significant trends and create a new plan for the future of the product. Organized free-form responses to discover enlightening information which led to new product plans and simple usability fixes. • Classified customer concerns regarding website errors and usability. Found and corrected numerous errors and responded to customers to thank them for their contribution(s). Product Analysis: • Evaluated cost versus profitability of new software products and fit into the product offering and customer interest. • Analyzed complex software product offerings against existing products to determine whether new vendors should be considered, changes in product offerings, cost savings and changes in profitability. • Examined and reported profitability of individual products, and how sales incentives might optimize profitability, or if the product confused or detracted from the overall product mix. • Analyzed competitors’ products for customer appeal and profitability.
