Daily Duties at Verizon Telecommunications:
Worked closely with eight other team members to maintain and modify the processing of raw billing and marketing data for entry into a centralized data warehouse. • Analyzed and successfully redesigned and implemented a mainframe front end for third party marketing data, eliminating unnecessary CNTL member modifications for e-mail notifications, error notifications and FTP data transmissions—all reducing manual intervention significantly, as Vendor providers and FTP targets changed. • Analyzed and designed a complete rewrite to a manual ETL process to improve MS SQL DTS package and Teradata SQL procedure processing times, reducing machine load and processing time by 30%. Automated entire job streams by processing UNIX based BTEQ scripts into parallel ESP and ESP/X scheduled jobs. • Correctly identified and migrated numerous production Teradata database tables to a new production database, working with several DBAs to design and create the new production environment, modifying numerous BTEQ scripts to reference the new DB table design, testing and installing the modified scripts and ESP/X jobs and coordinating the final cutover into production.
