Daily Duties at Cygnus, Inc.:

1. Validate the elements of the glucose watch, a non-abrasive medical device measuring glucose level in diabetes in a GMP and FDA regulated environment. 2. Perform a variety of tests on raw materials, in process, finished products and products on stability programs using HPLC, GC, UV/ VIS, FTIR, TGA… Tests on gel including quantifying protein, molecular weight of glucose oxidase, quantify ethylene bis acryl amide and undecylenic acid Tests on gluco-watch sensor including functional test and QC test. Microbial lab experience including counting and characterizing microbial groups. 3. Write status reports and stability reports. Revise SOP, WI and existing chemical analysis procedures. Review notebooks and technical data. Attend lab audit. 4. Manage the stability program, establish new stability programs. Follow up on existing programs: Schedule, pull and assign testing stability samples. 5. Manage the reference standard program: Track inventory, initial, retest, close-out testing on reference standards. 6. Assist managing the QC lab group (five months). Assigning tasks and supervising up to five team members. Train new lab personnel, maintain a training records database, and conduct quality training. 7. Operating, calibrating, trouble shooting and maintaining instruments: Shimazu HPLC 10series, Perkin Elmer (PE) LC 30. HP GC 5800/ 6800 series. UV/ VIS spectrophotometer Shimazu 1601, 96 well Biotech Power Wave 340. PE Fourier Transform Infrared spectrophotometer Paragon 1000PC, Thermo Gravimetric Analyzer TGA-7, Orion pH meter.
