Daily Duties at Pgt Industries:
Senior Mechanical Engineer at PGT Industries, a $250MM/year manufacturer of hurricane resistant windows, doors and patios. Responsibilities include design and management of machinery for processing of raw materials and assembly of the window and door products. * Project management of several simultaneous projects utilizing both in-house and external design resources including 2 controls engineers, 2 mechanical designers, and an array of assembly and maintenance technicians. * Development of a hierarchical machine and parts numbering system allowing maintenance and purchasing to easily access part numbers ands detail part drawings. * Lead development of a web based work order request application, allowing manufacturing personnel to request engineering or maintenance assistance and to track the request’s progress. * CAD Manager of the Autodesk Inventor CAD system. Duties include procurement of software and hardware, training, support and maintenance of the CAD and support systems.
