Daily Duties at Nyk Line:

•Responsible for the day to day supervision of Ocean Liner Import/Export receivables in excess of $55 million •Reduced 30-60 Day receivables from 23% to 12% and Over 90 Day from 9% to 4% •Developed a new Policy & Procedures manual for the NYK Collections Department •Participated in streamlining the Collection Process by transferring all Collections activity from a manual process to uploading all client data into an Access database creating better efficiency •Provided daily reports detailing the Accounts Receivable, Unbilled Charges, and Exchange Rates for billing, responsible for the reconciliation of the receivables for the company’s largest retail accounts such as Lowes, Home Depot, The Gap, and Target •Assisted the Cash Application Department with funds provided to clear open receivables •Liaison between the NYK Legal Department and the Collections Agencies, assigning bankruptcy and delinquent accounts for further resolution •Investigated EDI related issues, collaborated with sales and logistics department to resolve problems. Also analyzed and allocated special projects, ad-hoc reports and employee workloads •Provided constant feedback as well as semi-annual and annual progress reports for each collections associate, developed and implemented a training program utilizing web based training
