Daily Duties at General Electric Co.:

GE is one of the pre-eminent manufacturers in the world. I worked for 3 Divisions of GE during my tenure, specializing in factory automation products and services. GE Supply Co. Div. - Woodale, IL Automation Accounts Manager 1992-1993 GESCO is the GE distribution arm for GE Fanuc products and services. I joined GESCO from GE Fanuc to help develop programs and facilitate sales presentations to increase GE Fanuc product sales through the GESCO sales force. I reported to the GESCO Midwest Manager. This location is GESCO’s largest in North America. Products: PLC’s, Drives, Sensors, Industrial Computers and Manufacturing Software Markets: All Industrial Manufacturers. Accomplishments:  Established the Automation Sales Div. with GE Supply management.  Focused on products of high technology for automating factories with customer focus on system integrators, special machinery builders and key large users who need to purchase automation system solutions.  I was promoted and transferred to this Division to help increase Chicago area sales. GE Fanuc Automation Div. - Oakbrook, IL. Regional Distribution Manager 1991-1992 Reported to National Sales Manager. I developed distribution sales plans, recruited and trained distributor sales forces, administered GE Fanuc distributor enhancement programs and maintained relationships with distributor principals. Products and Markets: Identical to above. Accomplishments:  Managed relationships with GE Fanuc's #1 and #4 sales rated distributors. ($7MM)  I was promoted to this position from Chicago Area Sales Manager. GE Fanuc Automation Div. - Oakbrook, IL. Chicago Area Sales Manager 1989-1991 Managed Chicago area 5 man sales force and developed “target account” sales program. Responsible for focusing GE Fanuc sales force on Fortune 500 accounts to secure product specifications. Reported to Regional Sales Manager. Products and Markets: Identical to above. Accomplishments:  Grew business from $3.5 MM to $5.5 MM in 2 years.  Personally secured a $1MM hardware and software order with Colgate Palmolive.  I was promoted to this position from Automation Sales Engineer.
