Daily Duties at Catholic Medical Center:

Worked as a Registered Nurse on the Medical/Surgical Floor. Also worked in the RN Float Pool and in the Refugee Clinic. Quality care given in ICU, telemetry, medical/surgical, Emergency Department and orthopedic units. Monitored patients' reactions to drugs and drug compliance, often with the assistance of an interpreter while working in the Refugee Clinic. Provided triage, referrals and medication administration. Also worked on admissions, discharges, and developed plan of care for patients. Proficiently worked with peripheral lines, central lines as well as wound care and orthopedic care. Administration and monitoring of antibiotics, TPN and blood products. Focused on patient teaching and safety. Provided education and support to patient and their families. Acted as a liaison between patient’s family and doctor. In the Refugee Clinic prepared examination rooms/ equipment and assisted physician during patient exams and treatments. Interaction with Manchester Board of Health to provide optimal patient care to incoming refugees. BLS Certified
