Daily Duties at First Data Corporation:

• Duties included building staging environments for system release updates, build directories, clone previous version into new ones, copy new code and files into release directories. • Familiar with Unix file structure and how to create directories, copy or move files, linking directories, changing permissions on a file, owner or directory. • Performed FTP/SFTP transfer of code. • Assisted in the scripting/automation of installation process. • Utilized VI Editor to manage profiles, maintain scripts and update files • Deployed in-house developed applications on over 20 different AIX and Sun/Solaris systems. • Deployed files for Windows Applications, responsible for creating files, un-zipping files, copying files from staging folders to production folders. • Created document template for install instructions • Responsible for element copies into 4 QA Environments • Ran package scans to ensure (jcl, procs, cards) met with company standards and there were no syntax errors and programs were added into correct type and no footprint issues occurred. • Tested code on a production look alike system then built packages moving them to a production staging area and built production package to be installed. • Generated monthly reports showing how many packages and elements were processed across 9 systems in the company. • Worked with Storage management monitoring available space of production libraries and taking corrective action when needed. • Assisted Programmers on how to add elements to CA-Endevor and taught them to build packages. • Provided comprehensive support for CA7 including: CA7 scheduling support for (User & Batch acceptance testing and QA(Quality Assurance). • Worked with Tech Support on defining CA7 to these systems and confirming functionality was working properly. Also acted as a liaison for any (issues, updates or upgrades) to CA7 and CA11 • Created new job streams from existing systems using BTI (Batch Terminal Interface), added new jobs to these flows, created backups of those schedules to easily transport to other testing areas. • Modified a monthly CA7 maintenance process to delete members in CMT older than 450 days and to compress all production libraries supported by the group. • Created process that allowed for automatic bterm installs to occur as soon as Endevor package ship completed. This also wrote the output to a file for an analyst review for successful completion.
