EMS product was developed to manage optical network elements such as SONET, DWDM, ROADM and WXCs. EMS was based on TMN architecture with Q3, SNMP, TMF interfaces to NMS. MIB persistence in object oriented database such as Versant and relational database Oracle. EMS implemented TMF, GDMO objects. Performed role of system architect and development lead. Developed OSS based on core J2EE, Java, JMS, CORBA, Oracle and postgreSQL for data persistence. Major modules include data replication, data persistence, GUI architecture, performance management. • Developed architecture and implemented application and data redundancy, maximum data availability features and disaster recovery techniques using High Availability solutions from Oracle 10g, Oracle streaming. • Developed specifications and architecture for Human Machine Interface (HMI). • Developed specifications for performance monitoring tool using UML. • Developed architecture and specifications for integrating different services of OSS product using SOA architecture, web services implementation, XML. Managed QA team for software testing. Instituted QA processes by • formulating test and validation cycle within software development life cycle • defining test strategy that includes sanity, functional, performance, regression test cycles • formulating issue management life cycle, mode of communication across different teams • creating requirements traceability mechanism • Managed integration testing of software and hardware Created system integration and test organization to perform validation, verification and field-trial of software products. Product field trial and subsequent deployments to service providers such as AT&T, Qwest, Global crossing etc. Implemented test automation using HP (Mercury) Quality Center achieving 70% efficiency in test organization. Managed development of in-house tools, procurement and integration of COTS products for requirement definition, test cases repository, test execution tracking and issue management.
