Daily Duties at Satyam Computers Lts:

• Responsibilities include Tuning oracle 9i Database and perform the role of Application DBA while upgrading from 9i Single node to 10g 2-node. • Streamlined the functioning of Database support by following strict DB guidelines and made the Oracle database SOX compliance. • Reviewed the ETL design and the database and performed extensive tuning on the data extraction and SQL*loader scripts. The data load queries are enhanced by using sql hints, new indexes and gathering statistics. • Audited the use of tables and indexes and users. Exported the Unused Tables using EXPDP and transportable tablespace technique and cleaned the no longer required DB objects. • Reviewed Schedules of CRON Jobs .Wrote scripts to notify the status of the UNIX jobs to L1 support. • Partitioned non partitioned tables into partitioned tables with exchange partition option and dbms_redefinition package. • Analyzed the behavior of Index usages in SQL queries and added /removed the indexes as per the need. • Redesigned SQL Queries, PL/SQL functions, Procedures and Triggers to avoid hot blocks. • Tuned most resource consuming queries by using Explain Plans and applied HINTS • Worked with DBA to adjust memory parameters where ever necessary. • Worked with LOGMINER utility to extract information for AUDITING purpose. • Used trace analyzer, TKPROF, ADDM report, AWR report, STASPACK. • After Upgrade to 2node RAC database, Tuned and monitored the Multinode RAC database using various tools such AWR, ADDM. • Analysed and understood the legacy application and its functionalities and created system design document. • Created and maintained Work Breakdown structure till the completion of the project. • Involved in Database logical and physical modeling using ErWin. • Created the data Migration plan for migrating 20 years data and provided guidance to create automated scripts for Migration. • Used SSIS for migrate the data to SQL Server Staging DB and SQL scripts to migrate and cleanse the data to application database. • Designed and documented the interface and its infrastructure building plans to and from External applications. • Created Critical inbound and outbound Interfaces in SSIS and scheduled. • Created Complex Script task to handle unformatted and irregular incoming files and arching files. • Used functionalities like Logging, data flow task, conditional splitting, variables /Expressions, Loop containers. • Developed plan for testing interfaces and infrastructure.
