Daily Duties at Principal Financial Group:
• Analyzed medical risk for potential new/existing clients for medical insurance. Reviewed claim dollars, medical history, and background of potential clients and created a sustainable price, allowing for the growth of market share and increased exposure in key target markets. • Negotiated with regional sales office representatives to set medical premiums with goal of creating "win-win" solutions for both internal and external customers. Ability so sell profitable business in efforts to meet strategic goals of increased medical membership and operational earnings. • Strong analytical process/ risk analysis utilized daily to assure profitable business to meet budgets and projections for assigned sales regions, as well as the company as a whole. Utilized by the sales force as a reference in helping provide solutions for both internal and external customers. • Mentored/Trained business processes, communication practices, as well as underwriting guidelines to a variety of audiences including sales force, new hires, brokers, and additional marketing arms to build strong relationships and increase the knowledge base both internally and externally. • Underwriting Representative on Virtual Market Team working with all levels within the company. Developed growth and retention strategies based upon competitor analysis, and other concerns as they arise. • Underwriting Department and Sales “Subject Matter Expert” for Health Reimbursement Accounts, Health Savings Accounts, and High Deductible Health Plans which focused on overall depth of knowledge within the team by facilitating, training, and finding resolutions to meet customers' needs.
