Daily Duties at Att Alascom :

Directed maintenance efforts for the gateway satellite communication system, Eagle River Alaska. This involved working with customers to resolve maintenance issues. Engineered, built and commissioned transportable earth stations for Desert Storm. Spent one year in the desert with troops. Supervised final stages of special FAA communication contract on a technical and management level. Served as technical supervisor to upper management. Managed day-to-day operational routine/work. Attended weekly upper level management meetings with supervisor and main contractor. The main contractor was Hughs communication. Tier 2 /3 technical support for all RF technologies used by ATT in Anchorage, Alaska. Was subject matter expert for single channel (Scientific Atlanta) per carrier technologies along with digital technologies (DAMA) (Demand assigned multiple access) used over satellite. This involved working with customers to resolve maintenance issues. Deployed the DAMA project to replace legacy systems in Alaska. Engineered and built remote transportable earth stations and microwave sites. Developed new processes and procedures for better maintenance repair cycles for Digital and analog systems. (DAMA, SCPC ( single carrier per channel) Team member for special projects such as, International Date Line Expedition between Russia /USA (video), USA direct during Desert Storm and transportable earth station for remote video/voice uplink (Valdez oil spill). Provided repair for Motorola mobile radios for company mobile fleet. These radio’s used different frequency scheme over the tiers. I have experience with IDEN (Integrated Digital Enhanced Network) but I would not consider myself an expert. Installed and commissioned Redcom switches. Provided SAR (Satellite access request) and GAR (Gateway access request). Installed and commissioned VoIP systems over satellite, microwave, land lines and fiber
