Daily Duties at Maverick Engineering:
Headed the industrial division’s project management group, managing a 6-member team of project managers and subcontractors in the development of 3 projects representing $125M for key client, Valero McKee refinery. Drove each program from initial conception and planning into the “Phase III” design engineering stage, overseeing scope, scheduling, resources, estimating, project costing, and cash flow forecasting while resolving all issues. • Improved the accuracy of monthly forecasting to within 5% with the creation and implementation of an expenditures forecasting and monitoring spreadsheet, adopted by project management across corporate divisions. • Similarly enhanced the process and accuracy of cost estimating, significantly speeding the project approval process, with the development of a standardized spreadsheet tool. • Successfully overcame entrenched processes within the client’s operation to begin the process of introducing best practice project management tools.
