Daily Duties at Unisphere Networks:
Unisphere Networks was a pre-IPO, networking equipment manufacturer founded in 1998 and later acquired by Juniper Networks. They developed telecommunications products in the data and soft-switching markets. Key Achievements • Successfully launched edge-routing products within major telecommunications companies in the USA, Asia and Europe. • Leveraged C-level contacts to secure four new, application-specific, customer lab trials within Qwest Communications data network: ADSL, VDSL, Circuit Aggregation and IP-VPN Circuit Aggregation • Sold approximately $400,000 of lab equipment to support the above efforts • Secured multiple, multi-million dollar contracts for edge-routing equipment through Unisphere’s reseller network, which included Marconi Communications, for whom I went to work to follow the contracts to assure continuity and client satisfaction. Result: Sold US$3 million in products.
What they like about Unisphere Networks:
Working for a company with an emphasis on social values and helping society is a clear and important priority for you - a critical factor in who you choose to work for. In contrast to other factors, you place an organization's reputation for fairness and concern for the community above most other aspects of the company. As you search for a new job opportunity, it is usually possible to find out if the company is involved in the community and/or if it is addressing problems and issues in society. Pay special attention to non-profit organizations and those specifically involved in social action. Moreover, speaking with current and former employees should enlighten you to perceptions of the fairness of the company's leaders and the treatment of employees.
