Daily Duties at Amp/Tyco/Stc South:
WHEN I WAS FIRST RECRUITED FROM OHIO MY JOB WAS TO WORK IN STAMPING, DOING CHANGE OVERS AND HELP MAINTAIN PRODUCTION.AFTERA FEW YEARS I WAS MOVED TO SHELL STAMPING TO HELP GET THIS AREA UP AND RUNNING.AFTER WORKING IN THIS AREA FOR ABOUT A YEAR THEY MOVED ME TO WORK WITH ENGINEERING ON THE S O DIMM PRODUCT LINES.WORKWD HERE FOR 18 MONTHS, WHEN THE LINES BECAME CERTIFIED AND WAS SHIPPED OVERSEAS. BACK TO STAMPING I WENT,BUT WAS SENT TO THE TOOL SHOP TO MANUFACTURE/REPAIR TOOLING FOR THE STAMPING DIES.HERE I STAY UNTILL NOV.2001 WHEN THEY CLOSED AMERICAN AVE.PLANT,THUS MOVINGME TO STC SOUTH. HERE IS WHERE I WAS TRAINED TO RUN THE CNC MILLING CENTERS,ALSO WAS TRAINED ON THE EDM DOWN BURN MACHINES, AND HOW TO MAKE ELECTRODES TO DO THE BURNS WHEN NOT RUNNING THESE MACHINES THEN I RAN ANY OF THE OTHER MANUAL GRIDERS/MILLS UP TILL THE TIME THAT I WAS LAID OFF DUE TO COMPANY REDUCTIONS.
