Daily Duties at University Of Iowa Orthopedic Biomechanics Laboratory :
• Developed a pose-based image analysis technique for in vivo wear measurements from archival x-rays of total disc replacements. • Filtering of the x-ray images using the wavelet tool kit (Matlab) • Filtering, Segmentation and Registration of images using Matlab. • Working on virtual reality models of the total disc replacements to evaluate their functions in vivo. • Developed a x-ray simulator using Opengl applying the ray tracing principle • Apart from technical skills learnt how to interact with surgeons and understand their need to find out wear of implants in vivo. • Applied Engineering skills to fasten the process of finding out wear in minimal time
