Daily Duties at Alcatel Lucent:

Alcatel-Lucent Nigeria for Globacom project – Telecom vendor contract of 850 Million USD Deputy of Chief Technical Officer (CTO) with 80 persons in the team and the total management responsibility of the technical department Oversaw: - Defining and driving the network evolution, and is supporting the Operations, by preparing the network design and architecture and by providing all the necessary inputs to perform a quality implementation in a timely manner. After the implementation, the team is in charge of the monitoring of global network QoS and provides recommendations for Quality improvement and resources optimization In this special project, CTO Department works also in close relation with Sales & Tendering team to define the equipment and feature requirements. One of the major outputs is the Quarterly Anticipation Letter, a comprehensive report that provides the status of the network load and highlights the potential bottlenecks for the subsequent six months, to drive the network expansion according to the Alcatel-Lucent portfolio. In this respect, the CTO team is organized into 7 departments: - Mobile Access Design (in charge of Radio and Transmission Design); -Radio Network Optimization (in charge of Quality and Optimization of the radio access network 2G and 3G); - Quality of Service (in charge of the monitoring of the end-to-end QoS and of the Anticipation Reports); - Mobile Access Competence Centre; - Fixed Access Competence Centre; - Core Competence Centre (in charge of Architecture, Dimensioning, Technology and New Product Introduction for Mobile Access, Fixed Access and Core respectively); - Training (in charge of definition and organization of internal and external local trainings). Network overview: 17 million subscribers with 16 MSC (including 2G/3G NGN), 16 HLR (with ngHLR mated pair and Legacies); 4 STP; 9 IN platforms; 50 TC; 115 BSCs; 1920 PDH; 353 SDH, 2070 BTS sites; 400 ADM, 17 Litespan...
