Office of the Inspector Generals United States Social Security Administration/ Auditor, U.S. Department of Health of Human Service, Office of the Inspector General, Office of Audit Services Financial and IT Auditor • IT Auditor involved in all aspects of IT General Controls Reviews of corporate Medicare operations. • Performed and reviewed other firm’s compilation of IT and internal control reviews in accordance with U.S. SAS (Statement of Accounting Standards) 70 – Outsourced services. • IT Auditor involved in all aspects of general and application reviews of State Medicaid operations for compliance with U.S. Government Information Technology requirements to include security (encryption and privacy), Public Key Infrastructure, web server reviews, data centre reviews of government contractors (e.g. EDS, IBM, Unisys, Lockheed Martin). • Responsible for all associated audit interviews, analyses of data and information retrieved and preparation of related findings for incorporation into final report. • Staff Auditor and Auditor-in-Charge assigned to financial, operational (compliance) and administrative cost recovery audits of the Social Security Administration OIG (Office of Inspector General/Internal Audit), Southern Division. United States General Services Administration Federal Technology Service, Fort Worth, TX Consultant: Federal Technology and Market Development • Managed the delivery of comprehensive Networking, Telecommunication and Information Technology solutions to U.S. government agencies and the United States Military both within the Continental United States and Latin America (Primarily to U.S military branches and the United States State Department). • Coordinate with Multinational Companies in the provision of services to U. S. Government Agencies to include: Unisys, Cisco, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, British Aerospace, Microsoft, Sun Systems, EDS and others. United States Agency for International Development Office of Inspector General (Internal Audit, Office of Audit -Washington, D.C.)- Staff Auditor • Member of the Government Management Reform Act (GMRA) and Chief Financial Officers Act (CFO) audit team performing audits and reviews of agency financial statements and regulatory compliance. • Assisted in developing sections of the FY 1997 U.S. GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principals) Financial Statement audit report submitted to agency management and Congress. United States Department of Justice - Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), Washington, D.C. Staff Accountant • Compilation and review of financial statements in accordance with the CFO (Chief Financial Officer’s Act) of 1990 and Independent Certified Public Accountant recommendations • Interpreted and used government accounting standards (GASB), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars (e.g. A-123) and General Accounting Office (GAO) Directives on a continual basis • Assisted in preparation and analysis of various sections of the agency financial statements in coordination with other internal accountants and external auditors (Primarily Statement of Cash Flows and Financial Position and schedules financial statement line items) Federal Bureau of Prisons, United States Department of Justice Supervisory Operating Accountant, Various Duty Locations within the United States • Supervised Financial Management operations and personnel. • Interpreted and implemented regulatory requirements for accurate and timely reporting. • Guided, supervised and reviewed assigned Accounting Technicians and Trainees (up to 9 at one location) • Conducted and supervised numerous internal financial and operational audits, with the responsibility of outlining improvements and areas of waste and abuse. • Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of all OMB, GAO and DOJ mandates within institutional accounting operations and reporting
