Daily Duties at Microsoft:
1. Responsible for building out infrastructure servers and network gear in a data center migration of over 5000+ servers. This included domain controllers (DCs), DNS, Exchange, monitoring, RAS/PPTP, Radius, monitoring, and other servers. There were also approximately 300 internet facing applications which had to be re-configured as the servers move into new address spaces. 2. Service Manager for an Extranet environment of over 1300 servers in four different locations (Redmond, WA; Reno, NV; Dublin, Ireland; Hyderabad, India). 3. Oversee training tier one support staff and providing tier 2 support for escalations. 4. Work with customers to determine the needs of their applications and develop solutions that would meet those needs. 5. Act as a liaison between the customers, engineering, support teams and project managers. 6. Plan and implement infrastructure projects and network design changes both locally and regionally, and in extensions of the environment to other locations.
