Daily Duties at Dietrich Metal Framing:

Corporate Human Resource Manager, Schiller Park, IL (2000-2003) Coached and counseled management teams in all aspects of human resources at 12 locations in 9 states (800 employees), with one direct report.  Served as interim PeopleSoft HRIS administrator from December 2000 through March 2001.  Recruited non-exempt and exempt positions, both locally and nationally.  Developed policy and procedure manual for use by management teams at all locations.  Facilitated leadership training for middle management and first line supervisory teams.  Designed, implemented, administered, and communicated employee benefit plans. Human Resource Manager, Franklin Park, IL (1999-2000) Responsible for all human resource functions at local operation (125 employees) and East Chicago, IN facility (50 employees), with one direct report. Hired initially for a corporate role, and was assigned on a temporary basis to Franklin Park when a petition for a union election was filed by the Steelworkers in May 1999. Permanently transferred to Franklin Park plant in August 1999.  Successfully headed off a second union-organizing attempt inside a 13-month period in June 1999.  Improved communication and trust between management and plant hourly employees by establishing an employee relations/safety committee.  Initiated a small group meeting method called, "table talks" on a monthly basis that solved employee issues and concerns, and re-opened lines of communication.  Member of the management transition team that successfully moved Franklin Park operations into a brand new facility in Joliet, IL. Managed HR function at both facilities simultaneously for a six-month period during the transition.
