Daily Duties at Laboratory Corporation Of America:

Perform a wide variety of routine and highly specialized laboratory tasks in all departments of the laboratory. Use of proper aseptic technique in the performance of phlebotomies by venous and capillary puncture. Receive and process patient specimens. Centrifuge specimens to separate cells from sediment, serum or supernatant fluids. Collect observed (if requested) and unobserved urine specimens for chain of custody protocol as outline by the Occupational Testing Service. Perform clerical duties when required to include operation of computer system, answering telephone calls and routing calls to the appropriate departments. Be a liaison between clients and laboratory. Have two years of Hematology and Oncology expercise contracted out to Cancer Care Centers of South Texas for the last two years.
