Daily Duties at Vip Consulting Inc:
Project: Project Management and Tracking System (PMTS) This system manages and tracks software systems owned by various business units This application is an n-tier application with application server as middle tier and Java Web Server servicing the intranet requests. The back-end database was Oracle. All the application logic is placed in the middle tier. The application server is used for performance and as a central repository of application logic. The database connectivity is achieved using JDBC. Also using database connection pooling to improve the performance. The presentation layer included developing HTML pages. Used JavaScript for client side validations. Designed the system using UML and Design Patterns. Configuring/installing WebLogic on Solaris and Windows platforms. Developed several HTML forms and JSPs. Form validations are done using Java Script. Developed JSP pages to show dynamic contents. Extensively worked on server side development. Involved in analysis and implementation of these modules. Responsible for developing various modules like online-assistant. Involved in installation of oracle 8i on Windows NT environment, creation of databases and assigning permissions to users to access them. Environment: Java (Jdk 1.2), Perl, Servlets, JDBC, Oracle 8i, JFC Swing, Windows NT, IBM Websphere, and EJB.
