Daily Duties at The Morning Call:

Responsible for collaborating on the design and production of daily news and features sections • Wrote headlines and captions as well as edited copy, working with the reporters to ensure accurate, informative and entertaining stories were published in the 118,853 daily circulation newspaper. • Fact-checked copy and polished stories. • Responsible for uploading stories to the newspaper’s Web site and writing Search Engine Optimization (SEO)-driven headlines and tags. • Devised a method of tracking available news briefs to ensure timeliness and no duplications in the newspaper. SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENTS: 1. Suggested and gained support and approval for new way of receiving information that saved newspaper hundreds of dollars a year in transmitting fees. 2. Starting in 2008, responsibilities were expanded to include overseeing design and production of daily features sections several times each week.
