Directed legislative and political affairs for a leading financial trade association representing more than 500 federal credit unions. Represented association on Capitol Hill before the Senate and House Financial Services, Senate Finance, House Ways and Means, Senate and House Judiciary Committees. Drafted congressional testimony and prepared more than twenty witnesses for appearances before House and Senate committees. Managed fundraising for Associations political efforts. Accomplishments include: Served as lead association lobbyist, drafted and secured several amendments critical to the credit union community within the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 (P.L. 109-8). Directed all aspects of NAFCU/PAC including strategic planning, budgeting, fundraising, compliance, and benchmarking. Oversaw a 300% increase in contributions to NAFCU/PAC from 2000 to 2006. Directed annual Congressional events, which brought over 800 professionals and volunteers in direct contact with members of Congress and the Administration. Organized, directed and raised more than $500,000 in funds for corporate sponsored events during the 2000 Democratic Convention in Los Angeles, CA and the 2004 Democratic Convention in Boston, MA. Invited to speak at more than thirty industry conferences on legislative and political issues, including strategic planning, PAC issues, and motivating executives and employees.
