Daily Duties at Cincinnati Bell Telephone:

* Utilize optical, digital, and analog test sets to test, locate, and evaluate problems in fiber optic/copper cable plant * Review and interpret work orders to establish and/or maintain service according to Bell System Practices * Analyze complex schematic drawings to determine work to be done and sequence of tasks in the most efficient manner * Prepare newly-installed cables/conductors for splicing by opening cables and identifying cable counts versus pic-sheath-count * Communicate with other employees regarding testing on completed work to ensure accuracy * Assist engineers and planners with coordinating details for future work orders * Maintain extensive knowledge of copper and fiber optic cable splicing, testing, repair, and setup * Manage crew as in-charge supervisor, in absence of team leader; assigning work orders, scheduling crew, and determining priority of work to be accomplished * Evaluate new products from vendors for use in the field Cross-train fellow crew members
