Daily Duties at Guardian Life Insurance Company:

Quoting Proposals: Run quotes for brokers. Work very close with underwriters for quotes that are restricted. Negotiate with underwriters for lower rates if broker one of our high volume producer. Negotiate with the underwriter if we need to run similar to what they currently have as their benefits. Sold/New Business: Prepare all the necessary enrollment materials for the new group. Rerun final quote with final products that were sold. Prepare Plan Benefits Summary for the planholder for distribution to their employees. When the enrollment materials were received back from broker or planholder, I enter in Simon system. I order ID cards from our Card Vendor, Metavante. I request from my Bethlehem office Administative Kit for the planholder. Send all pertinent documents to my home office in Seattle WA to process. Extensive follow up is done on my side. Processing underwriter usually contact me for missing information. If the processing underwriter comes back with questions, I usually contact the Broker or the Planholder. Review Contract: When the processing underwriter sign off this new business, Employer Rider and Contract are created and sent out to planholder and the Broker. I audit these booklets and Rider, along with the First Bill for accuracy. Inforce Case: When the process is done, and the case has been issued, this account becomes inforce. This is where I begin servicing this account. I will service this account on their Renewal, Provide Options, Order reports (i.e, 5500, MRA (maximum rollover), Claims vs Premium, and many more. Add-Issue: When an inforce account elected to do an add issue of other line/s of coverage/s, I run the option/s that were selected, and sent out to my home office to process.
