Daily Duties at Cema:
Supervises and monitors the daily operations of a area office that includes a team of seven Single Soldier Housing (SSH) employees that are assigned to the Unaccompanied Personnel Housing Division. Responsible for coordination and management of 16 Barracks Buildings, 1644 barracks spaces and three Community Activity Centers (CAC) on an Army Installation at Fort Benning, Georgia. Develops and coordinates Single Soldier Housing Management in accordance with appropriate, Department of the Army (DA) standards i.e. Barracks Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), AR 420-1 and guidance from Chief, Housing Office, DPW and other Higher Headquarters. Attends and briefs newly assigned Commanders and First Sergeants, Family Readiness Group (FRG) Rear Detachment Commander, First Sergeants on barracks standard operating procedures for CBM Complexes. Establishes and sustains a working relationship with soldier's chain of command, housing managers, and other outside agencies. Assist the Project Manager in the development of the SSH annual budget estimate for Human Resources, supplies, equipment, training and travel. Provides input for position description and classification for SSH positions for hiring purposes. Makes suggestions and offers advice for the best qualified candidates for Inspectors and Administrative personnel. Provides CEO and Management advice and assistance on discipline, adverse actions, grievances, performance evaluations and awards recognition. Receive and review all incoming/outgoing tasking, special projects pertaining to Single Soldiers residing in barracks. Provides direction and input to the staff members, i.e. Garrison CSM; Chief, Housing; Chief, Unaccompanied Housing, and Project Manager regarding all Fort Benning Barracks Complexes. Supervises and coordinates all deployments and redeployments for 3rd BDE. Responsible for a full range of complex administrative and clerical duties as it pertains to Single Soldier Housing, encompassing assignments and termination of occupancy in single soldier barracks, determining eligibility for UPH housing, on post and off-post housing, inspections and clearance of barracks, and tenant maintenance requirements. Enters data in automated HOMES 3 to produce reports, orders, or personnel data updates as needed; retrieves data from various information sources, both manual and electronic, for use on answering questions, responding to correspondence, preparing recurring reports. Overseas weekly grounds and common area inspections; monthly barracks room inspections and provides results to higher level chain of command. Operates a computer to perform various office automation in support of office operations, such as producing briefing charts, spreadsheets, PowerPoint slides and other materials. Attended and Completed varies housing courses with the Military Housing and Lodging Institute (MHLI); Management of Army Housing and Lodging, Unaccompanied Personnel Housing and Furnishings Management Course and attended Professional Housing Management Association (PHMA) 2008
