Daily Duties at Sony Disc Manufacturing:
SDM is a manufacturer of music and data compact discs for the retail market. During my 3-month internship I was part of a team that was focused on reducing the machine downtime during order changeover on the jewel case packaging lines. I was responsible for time studies, operator interviews, work instruction development, setup overlap methods, and operator training on setup reduction. Altogether, we achieved a 25% reduction in machine downtime during order changeover.
