Daily Duties at Georgia Institute Of Technology:
Low-Power High-SNR Capacitive Sensing Interface Circuit Design: Designed charge amplifiers for capacitive sensing using SpectreS; layout creation and tapeout on the AMIS 0.5um 5V CMOS process; verified the design by testing chips with MEMS microphones and with ultrasonic transducers. Filed a U.S. Patent, which is approved on Oct. 18, 2007. A Reconfigurable Smart Sensory Chip: Designed and verified transimpedance amplifiers, output buffers, and charge amplifiers for an 8-channel universal sensor interface in a large-scale reconfigurable analog array; layout creation and tapeout on the TSMC 0.35um 3V CMOS process; the chip was tested and was synthesized for current sensing, voltage sensing, and capacitance sensing. Filed a provisional patent on June 15, 2009. A Highly Power-Efficient Programmable Multivariate Analog Classifiers: Proposed and designed a highly power-efficient 16x16 mixed-signal vector quantizer that converts an array of analog signals into digital; layout creation and tapeout on the AMIS 0.5um 5V process; verified the design using a Nios processor with a group of testing logic on an Altera FPGA and custom testing boards. Demonstrated an automated gender identification experiment using the chip with the testing setup. Filed a U.S. Patent on Sept. 30, 2008.
