What they like about Astra Zeneca Usa:

A hiring company that offers alternative approaches to pay, performance bonuses, and/or equity in the firm is very attractive to you. You're generally less interested in working for an organization offering only traditional, salary-based compensation, one with limited opportunity to acquire equity in the firm, or one that does not actively promote skill development. In addition, you are more likely to choose a company that offers a variety of internal career options, with defined career paths. You view the learning of new skills and development of your expertise as key to your career advancement. These aspects of an organization may become even more important to you as you progress in your field, and are especially critical if you change career or occupation.

Climbers' Joblogs at Astra Zeneca Usa:

The International Assignment Experience

At the end of May, I transitioned with my family back to the US after spending 2.5 years in the UK on a company sponsored international assignment. The experience was fantastic, both personally and professionally.

From a professional perspective, the pharmaceutical industry's business challenges are significant due to eroding product sales, thin product pipelines and massive fixed costs. The issues were particularly acute in the UK where the government is the sole payer of healthcare and controls pharmaceutical prices. In both my roles, I worked to address the level of fixed costs to build capabilities that would enable the organization to better compete.

From a personal perspective, living abroad provided my family experiences they may not have had otherwise. We visited Ireland, Spain, Italy, Belgium, France, South Africa and Scotland. We enjoyed Sunday carvery at the pub, laughed at the language nuances my daughters would bring home from school, and added a 3rd daughter to our family.

I'm very fortunate and grateful for these experiences. I'm also very happy to be home in the USA!
