Daily Duties at The Marketing & Events Co:

I started my own event management and marketing services company focused on fund-raising events, sponsorship consulting, market research projects and media productions. I was the Senior Project Manager for the 2005 and 2006 National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (NFAA) Anniversary Galas. The Galas are the major fundraising event for NFAA. The two galas I produced generated over $5 million for NFAA. I also coordinated fundraising events for the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) and The Point Foundation. In addition to my non-profit clients, I consulted with corporate clients ESB Productions, Be Gay Tours, Euromonitor International and eCMetrics. I worked closely with the CEO/Owner of ESB Productions on creating, writing and implementing comprehensive business development strategy for all lines of business under ESB and PGP along with managed the development of sponsorship strategy instrumental in identifying and securing sponsors for all contests, projects and productions run by ESB.

What they like about The Marketing & Events Co:

A hiring company that offers alternative approaches to pay, performance bonuses, and/or equity in the firm is very attractive to you. You're generally less interested in working for an organization offering only traditional, salary-based compensation, one with limited opportunity to acquire equity in the firm, or one that does not actively promote skill development. In addition, you are more likely to choose a company that offers a variety of internal career options, with defined career paths. You view the learning of new skills and development of your expertise as key to your career advancement. These aspects of an organization may become even more important to you as you progress in your field, and are especially critical if you change career or occupation.
