Daily Duties at Portland Family Practice:

Managed billing operations of 11 family practice/obstetric physicians. Supervised three FTEs in the business office. Interviewed, hired and evaluated employee performances. Maintained insurance contracting. Responsible for education to staff and providers and updating practice system with current CPT, ICD-9 and HCPC coding and fee schedules. Accountable for monthly posting of hospital charges and capitation payments. Responsible for daily bank deposits, prepared and per formed daily electronic claim filing, performed all month-end activities including statistical reports. Monitored patient schedules to ensure prior authorizations, disclaimers for non-covered services and signed consents were in place at time of appointment. Maintained practice management software included implementation of first EDI system for the practice. . Assisted in provider credentialing. Created and implemented and put in place the first written business office policy and procedure manual for the practice.
