Daily Duties at Progressive Insurance:
• Responsible for the overall medical management and development of supervisors, claim representatives and support staff as well as vendor relations, business process improvements, budgeting, performance evaluations, and coverage denials. • Directed a department of 24 medical representatives in two locations handling 2400 personal auto lines, commercial vehicle and special lines claims • Administered all Medical Claim Department operations for Colorado policies, and held accountable for all claim quality and performance metrics • Managed reserves in excess of $14,000,000, while keeping inventory flat by decreasing claims cycle time • Established and implemented Medical Claim Handling Guidelines • Implemented process improvements that increased bill payment frequency by 30% • Mitigated, authorized, and settled medical claims up to policy limit exposure • Created new process to close claims after the Colorado Legislature let the mandatory PIP law sunset, which led to a reduction in inventory prior to laying off staff
