Daily Duties at Ready Talk:
ReadyTalk's main goal in hiring is to be a strengths-based organization, and because of this has a unique hiring philosophy that combines the use a heavy behavioral interview process in conjunction with hiring tools like profilesontheweb.com to evaluate a candidate’s natural talents and tendencies, cultural fit, and technical skills for an open position. This position was created to take ownership of the Recruiting process and help brand ReadyTalk as the employer of choice in the Denver Metro area. It is critical to ReadyTalk’s mission to build a great company around quality employees. My role here is a combination of Recruiter and Human Resources.
The hiring is concentrated on technology jobs related to software development, but includes Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service. Here I collaborate with the hiring managers to determine hiring needs, and develop a candidate profile and job description for open positions. After sourcing, I move candidates through several steps in the screening process, including profile assessments, phone screens, Talents interviews, Cultural interviews, offers, and on-boarding. Throughout this process, I also partner with and advise hiring managers on our hiring philosophy, market standards, and legal issues. My work includes not only taking ownership of the recruiting process, but revamping the recruiting and hiring process as a way to promote our company as one of the Top Companies in Colorado (Colorado Business Journal, 2007 and 2008). My work includes evaluating recruiting tools and resources, and I have coordinated attendance to both college and professional job fairs, including TechStar’s Boulder.Me (as seen on TechCrunch.com) job fair, and helped create marketing collateral for hiring purposes.
In regards to Human Resources, I handle on-boarding and training of all new employees, benefits administration, employee wellness and moral programs, employee referral programs, and head up our training and employee development program (a program I formalized and have ownership of.). I have also helped to implement organizational development initiatives, including performance management initiatives, skills assessment and strengths training, and Corporate Wellness initiatives.
What they like about Ready Talk:
Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
