Daily Duties at Alaska Digitel:

Responsibilities included directing all activities for site acquisition, construction, operations, as well as RF engineering. Ensured my teams properly prepared SAR’s and SCIP packages in a timely manner. Reviewed and verified we met and maintained all regulatory obligations, including E-911, NEPA, FAA, FCC, and all local compliance requirements. Inspected cell sites during construction and upon construction complete to ensure quality prior to acceptance. This includes ensuring my Construction Managers have completed thorough punch lists, and that they follow up with the contractors to ensure all identified items are addressed. Additionally I reviewed all bids, BOM’s, and invoices to identify potential oversights. Led a weekly tracker meeting to receive progress updates, identified problems and recommend solutions to meet an aggressive build schedule. Created and maintained an annual budget to ensure system reliability while implementing cost reducing techniques to satisfy budget requirements. Researched and recommended new and improved technologies to introduce for deployment consideration. Reviewed and approved microwave designs to improve system performance and BH costs. Counseled my team in the areas of personal performance as well as career advancement, and ensure they receive the proper training to further their careers. Created and presented high level reports and potential solutions to provide an accurate account of the current system status, and promote fixes that will improve the overall system performance and ultimately save the company money.

What they like about Alaska Digitel:

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
