Daily Duties at Ibm Global Services:
Seton Hall University Transitional Manager, acting as the Director of University Computing. Managed the day to day operations for three functional groups: Programming and Systems Development, Computer Operations and Computer Support. The total service contract for this engagement was $3m, and was at risk because of a deteriorating client relationship. Identified problem, proposed solution to an IBM GS VP, and received approval to implement solution. Focused on re-establishing the client trust and confidence was restored. Goldman Sachs As Senior Technical Project Manager, assumed overall project responsibility for a 15,000 PC technology refresh rollout. This was a $2m services contract with a team of 20 IT Specialists. Contract was at risk because poor performance and poor client expectation management. Restructured the team, improved moral, and rebuilt the client relationship. Awarded an additional $1.2m contract extension. Barnes and Noble Transitional Manager, acting CIO for Barnes and Noble Textbooks.Com. As CIO, managed development and implementation of a new e-Commerce site, selling new and used textbooks to college students. Responsible for gathering user and marketing requirements, developing project plan and managing a team of 10 offsite web designers and developers. Project was delivered on-time, with acceptable an cost overrun to accommodate design change requests.

Investigating Web Content Management System available as open source..
Currently looking at 2 open source content management packages - Joomla and DotNetNuke.First observation:
DotNetNuke - more powerful, extend-able, more complex to learn
Jommla - easy to use, a lot of third party modules, plenty of template and internet support.
Will be playing with them over the next few weeks to build my own site IT Consulting LLC.
