What they like about Us Marine Corps:

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.

Climbers' Joblogs at Us Marine Corps:

Business Improvement

The past six months I have been training others on Lean Six Sigma Methodologies. During that time I have noticed a few areas of weakness in many leaders and managers. One such weakness is accountability. While leaders are not accountable for every task, they are accountable for the results. That is why leaders need to lead by example and take the organization or group in the direction they need to go. Another weakness is not managing change. Change Happens, so get used to it and make sure it is communicated continuously. It may be the most effective way to get the accepted result. Lastly, leaders need to learn to use and empower employees to the best of their abilities. Employees often have great ideas and suggestions, use them to improve. Continuous improvement is an over used catch phrase, but you need to improve and strive for perfection in your business, because if you're not, your competition is.
