Daily Duties at Bristol Myers Squibb:
Responsible for the successful management and operations of sales, medical, management, training, incentive, congress/association and product launch meetings ranging in size from 20-4000 for the Bristol-Myers Squibb Medicines Group and its other operating divisions worldwide. Business Unit Leader of the Global Health Care Professional Meetings and Congress/Association Division which supported meetings and events for all therapeutic areas managed in the USA held worldwide. One of three meeting/travel business unit leaders, reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate Goods and Services, instrumental in the management, innovation and implementation of the strategic meeting management program at Bristol-Myers Squibb. Worked closely with meeting managers in USA, country operations, brand teams and global strategic procurement to streamline internal, external meetings and congress logistics processes on a global basis. Interacted with the global legal and corporate regulatory compliance teams worldwide to stay attuned to changes in the medical meeting world via PhRMA and OIG pharmaceutical compliance organizations. Developed a strategic operations plan and process to manage the Global Congress and Association Business for the New Jersey Operation and our country affiliates around the globe, supporting the procurement of rooms, registration, satellite symposia and general sponsorship. Liaise with internal medical, product management, corporate/media affairs, exhibit teams and agency partners to manage and expedite logistics activities at congress and association meetings held worldwide. Participated as a global brand team member for all brands and involved in the business planning function on an annual basis for USA, Global and R&D business. Qualified meeting requests from internal customers and prepared specifications for sourcing and site selection. Directed a team of in-house meeting managers who managed day-to-day meetings and events from inception through final billing to include: contracting, day-to-day preparation and on-site operations management either internally or via partnership with an outside meeting management vendor. Developed SOPs and managed on-going training internal managers and of supplier partners. Recruit production companies for theme development and creative implementation for medical, national meetings and worldwide product launches. Managed, evaluated and assist multiple meeting management suppliers in providing services to internal customers. Oversaw negotiations with all suppliers delivering products and services in connection with assigned meetings and events. Partnered with internal procurement teams. Evaluated potential meeting management suppliers for inclusion in the corporate consolidation initiative. Managed internal customer expectations and ensured customer satisfaction within the scope of the planning and consolidation efforts. Responsible for management of budgets and enforcement of compliance with the meetings consolidation effort and productivity initiatives set by company.
